Fer pinya en mals temps


Aquest estudi documenta els primers dos casos de cria cooperativa en Picot garser petit. En general, el perquè de la cria cooperativa en els ocells està poc entès, i diferents factors sembla que poden estar involucrats en diferents casos. Aquestes observacions es van efectuar en una plantació de pollancres d’Hostalric (Girona) els anys 2005 i 2006 on es va retirar la fusta morta durant l'estiu del 2004, disminuint la qualitat del territori pels picots. Els autors del treball suggereixen que aquesta podria ser la raó d’aquests casos de cria cooperativa, ja que d'aquesta manera els picots podrien fer front a la disminució en la qualitat de l'hàbitat. De fet, el trio va poder assolir un gran èxit reproductor un dels anys (sis ous, sis polls), cosa que potser no podrien haver fet d'estar només dos.

Solidarizarse en tiempo de crisis

Este estudio documenta los primeros dos casos de cría cooperativa en pico menor (Dendrocopos minor). En general, la razón de la cría cooperativa entre los pájaros está poco entendida; hay diferentes factores que posiblemente puedan estar involucrados en diferentes casos. Estas observaciones se efectuaron en una plantación de chopos de Hostalric (Girona) los años 2005 y 2006 donde se retiró la madera muerta durante el verano del 2004, disminuyendo la calidad del territorio para los picos.

Los autores del trabajo sugieren que ésta podría ser la razón de los citados casos de cría cooperativa, puesto que de esta manera los picos pueden hacer frente a la disminución en la calidad del hábitat. De hecho, el trío pudo alcanzar un gran éxito reproductor uno de los años (seis huevos, seis pollitos), cosa que posiblemente no podrían haber hecho estando sólo dos.
